LEARNING INTENTIONS:
  • Use prior knowledge to connect with text
  • Check accuracy and the meaning of text whilst reading (ITTM)
  • Use prior knowledge and context to confirm author's meaning of words and phrases

When using the “I think that means” strategy, what do you have to do?
When using the ITTM strategy you have to say what you think a sentence means and convince the group you know what a certain sentence means.

How would you get a “3”?
You get a 3 if you explain the sentence in your own words, say it fluently and convince Miss Butler and the group you know what it means.

What is a roadblock?
A roadblock is a word you do not know and have to figure out for example gangrene which is a disease that can turn your skin black.

Comments

  1. Isla, you have really convinced me that you understand the “ITTM” strategy. You are putting the all of the sentences into your own words and are convincing your audience you understand what you have read.
